CHAPTER 1

My Boyfriend betrayed me, However, after getting drunk, I stay a night with his brother-in-law in a bar...

In a dimly-lit hotel room...

I  was kissing a handsome stranger.

Earlier tonight, my ex-boyfriend, announced his engagement—with another woman. I was so devastated that I got drunk at a bar. Under the influence of alcohol and the strange man's charm, I somehow ended up here.

Now that moris  was marrying a rich girl regardless of his four-year relationship with me,then I could also indulge myself a little, right?

I forgot myself, murmuring, Moris!

The man stopped abruptly.

The next second, the lights were flicked on.

The bright light made me  squint, but when my eyes finally adjusted to the light, I recognized who it was.

Davis fabberson—the most sought-after lawyer across the country. He was very famous in law circles, and he was an elite with countless assets.

But most importantly, he was the future brother-in-law of moris, who had just betrayed me

I sobered up instantly.

closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

Leaning against the wall, Davis lit a cigarette. After taking a long drag, he looked me up and down and said playfully, "Very interesting, Miss Henry

He flicked the ash off his cigarette and asked with a faint smile, "What were you thinking about just now when you kissed me? Did you try to make someone jealous?"

Obviously, Davis also recognized me now.

I  couldn't pretend that I  didn't know this man.

After all, he was famous. just didn't recognize him earlier because of the alcohol.

I knew that I couldn't afford to offend such a big shot, so I lowered my head and apologized meekly. "I'm sorry, Mr. Davis I drank too much."

Fortunately, he didn't make things difficult for me.After finishing off his cigarette, he stood up straight and tossed a coat at me. "Put it on. I'll drive you back."

I thanked him softly.

Neither of us spoke all throughout the drive, I would occasionally steal glances at him.

The man had an angular face and a perfectly chiseled jawline. Although I  didn't know the brand of his shirt, I know it was very expensive.

I guessed that there must've been tons of women lining up to hook up with this man.

After a few minutes of silence, he stopped the car in front of their destination. He turned his head slightly and stared at my slender and straight legs for a few seconds before finally handing me his business card.

I knew what this meant.

But I was surprised that he was still interested in me after finding out who I  was.

Although he is charming, I  hesitated. It was a bad idea to get entangled with a big shot like him, so I said, "Mr. Davis, we'd better not stay in contact."

He shrugged indifferently.

I was indeed beautiful, but he wouldn't force me if I was not interested.

So he tucked his business card back in his pocket and said, "Being conservative suits you."

I was a little embarrassed, but before I could respond, he  got out of the car and opened the door for me  like a gentleman. I  almost wondered if it was all just a dream and that nothing had actually happened between us  in that hotel room tonight.

As soon as I  got out, the car slowly drove away.

A cool breeze blew over, sending shivers down my spine. Only then did I  realize that I had forgotten to return the coat to him.

When I was hesitating whether I should try to catch up to him or not, my  phone rang.

Glancing at the caller ID,  it was my stepmother Elena calling. The latter's anxious voice sounded from the other end of the line, saying, "sara, come back home now! Something bad happened!"

I  tried to ask her about it, but Elena couldn't make it clear on the phone and just pleaded with me to go back home as soon as possible.

As soon as I  burst inside the house, I

found Elena  sitting on the sofa in a daze.

Her eyes were red, as though she had been crying.

I looked around and asked anxiously, "What happened, Elena? Where's Dad?"
