Seeing them again

Allison’s POV

“I'm telling you, Allie,” Tasha uttered, as we stepped into the event hall. “I was so shocked when I got the call to manage this event. A whole billionaire CEO saw my small brand and decided to trust it. He changed my life for real.”

“That's great, T. I'm so happy for you, babe. You deserve the best things in life.” I replied.

We were currently at a charity gala which Tasha was in charge of. The event was filled with the creme de la creme of the society, and I couldn't help but feel out of place in my black bodycon dress.

As Tasha was the event manager, she had quite a few connections and had helped me in securing a job as a server, in order to earn some money for Aiden's treatment.

Nowadays, I couldn't bring myself to shy away from working any because being ashamed wasn't going to take care of my child's medical bills.

Every day after clocking out of work, I worked three remote jobs. And on the weekends, I worked as a waitress at a coffee shop downtown.
