Allison’s POV

“Based on the test results, his system has taken a greater affinity to the recent prescriptions than the former ones.” Dr Clayton divulged, raising her head from the notepad in her hold. “His condition is gradually improving but he still needs that transplant as soon as possible.”

My heart did a back flip as cold shivers raced down my spine. “Okay, doctor. Thanks.”

Standing up, she smiled. “You are welcome.”

“Bye, Doctor Clayton.” Aiden waved excitedly at her as she trekked to the door.

“Bye, big guy.” She waved back, smiling.

As the door slammed shut, Aiden averted his gaze to me. “Mummy, what's a sorgry and why do I need it? Am I sick again?”

“No,” I feigned a smile as I caressed his cheeks. “You need a surgery, so you'll be able to play football with your classmates without losing your breath or feeling sick.”

Aiden's doe eyes lit up. “Really? I can run all I want if I get the sorgry? You mean it?”
