Abandoned Bar

Jeremy pov:

I held her hand tightly and looked into her eyes, desperation evident in my voice. 

"Please, river. Help me," I begged her.

"But Jeremy, you will regret it. You don't want this," she cautioned me, concern etched on her face.

"I'm so sure, river. I want it," I insisted, my heart pounding in my chest.

She smiled softly at me and pulled me into a hug, patting my back as I struggled to hold back tears. 

I needed a distraction, anything to forget the pain that consumed me. I couldn't continue like this; my heart felt like it would burst at any moment.

"I can't do it, Jeremy. I learned my lesson because of you," she said firmly, her voice filled with conviction.

My face fell for a moment, but I smiled at her nonetheless.
