Brittany handed her CV to a middle-aged man in his office and sat in the armchair facing the man. It was a bookstore and when she stopped in to look for a job she was directed to the owner’s office.

“You dropped out of university in the first year, any reasons why?” He asked.

“Debts, I couldn’t pay tuition and accommodation too so after the first year I decided to drop out” she replied.

“I guess that’s why you went digging gold,” he said with a sarcastic smirk on his face.

Brittany was annoyed but kept her composure, the previous places she had searched treated her worse than this. Some said they were not hiring gold diggers some said her only specialty was home wrecking and didn’t need her services and some just made fun of her.

“Sir, do you have a daughter?” She asked calmly.

“Yes, the same age as you, 21”

“Great! I believe you always tell her not to bring a poor man home, I’m sure when you say your prayers you pray that she’ll not fall in love with a poor man”
