Chapter 48

Boris walked dejectedly to Cole’s living room his heart pounding with every step he took. Cole was seated in his armchair looking gloomy. There was a half-empty glass of wine on the coffee table in front of him. He had arrived from the break just about 15 minutes ago and hadn’t even gone to his room yet. He was anxious to see Brittany and when Boris told him he was on his way he sat in the chair waiting. He thought Brittany had agreed to come with him.

He thought of what he’d say to her, he didn’t want to apologize his ego was still too big for that but he wanted to make it up to her somehow. Maybe take her shopping to replace the things he sold, he was still thinking it through when Boris stepped in and walked slowly towards him his face on the ground.

Cole looked around thinking Brittany would follow but there was no sign of her. His heart sunk even further.
