63. Peanut

Ivy

"Oh, stop yelling already. You are hurting my ear," my wolf Athena scolds me while I try to give birth.

"Really, Athena? You are telling me to stop crying? You are not the one pushing out a baby, you bitch!" I cry out.

"Oh Ivy. I can feel everything you feel. We are one and the same, remember?" she cooes.

And yet, she is over here asking me to stop crying. What the hell?

"You are almost there, Ivy. I see the baby's head," the doctor tries to soothe me.

Ryder had managed to push me back on the ground and tie my wings together so they would stop flapping and make me fly off mid-delivery.

I summon every ounce of strength and determination to push through the final stages of labor. The pain and effort intensify, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My son is about to arrive.

Ryder remains by my side, his grip firm and supportive. "You are doing great, my love. Our son is almost here," he whispers in my ear.
