A few hours later

I was sitting in the waiting room of Central Union hospital awaiting on a Dr. Marsh to tell me the status of Emma’s condition. Kyle’s men cleared out from the cabin, and I called the police to report Carters death and who was behind it. Kyle and his men took the bodies of Rubys falling men I did not ask what they planned to do with them. I did not want to know, and I made sure to leave them out of my report to the police. The police department had ordered a city-wide man hunt on Ruby. Wherever she escaped to she would not be safe for long. That did not matter to me at the moment. The only thing I cared about was weather Emma was going to be okay or not. I sat there counting the tiles on the hospital walls just so my mind was not idle, and it would not go on a downward spiral of worry for the woman who I considered a sister.
