Chapter 24

Logan's POV

I heaved a sigh as I walked out of the hospital. Nova; my horse was there waiting for me. As soon as I walked closer, he reared up his muzzle and stared at me.

"I must look pathetic to you too…," I said brokenly as I patted his mane.

"Do not worry, I will come for you," I said to him and refastened his reins before embracing the cold night.

Shoving my hands into my pockets, I halted and took a long look at the hospital. Although I had turned away from the small doctor, my heart was troubled. I wondered why she returned bloody and unconscious.

"If you are troubled, let's go see her… it takes you nothing," Leon said, but I shut him up. I might be concerned about the small doctor, but she was none of my business.

Slowly, I turned away from the hospital and took a long stroll back to the palace.

The first place I went was Lian's chambers. The royal physician was just leaving.

"She is going to be fine. She is asleep already," the physician answered the worried look in my eyes.
