I woke up as night fell. I instantly knew that Dominique was no longer with me. I sighed as I sat up. I got in the shower, dressed, went to the third floor, and got a pack of blood out of the refrigerator. After tasting Dominique’s blood, it wasn’t the same. I had never cared for the prepackaged blood from the blood bank, but you have to do what you have to do. Occasionally, I would go out and catch an unsuspecting victim and have fresh blood. I looked up when I heard Dominique coming down the hall. When I saw her, I had to school myself to be blank. But that didn’t stop me from looking her over, knowing she had nothing on under that towel. My hunger for her was intense tonight. Finally, I looked up and saw her lips curve into a smile. I awoke the next night and still felt Dominique and Tim in the house. I was glad they hadn’t left. I still wasn’t particularly fond of Tim being in my home, but he could protect Dominique when I couldn’t. Having a busted-up wolf to protect you was better than nothing. By now, he should be almost completely healed with the level of power I felt from him last night. I grabbed my phone and was preparing to head upstairs when I looked at the screen. I woke up to find myself in a dark room. My body was tired, and I needed blood. I slowly moved into a sitting position and realized I was on a bed in some hospital room. I didn’t see any windows whatsoever. I smelled a faint trace of wolf. I assumed I was in a werewolf hospital. I wasn’t sure how long I had been here. I moved off the bed and immediately hit the floor as my body was wracked with pain. I lay there for hours before finally mustering the strength to crawl towards the door.
