I awoke the next night and still felt Dominique and Tim in the house. I was glad they hadn’t left. I still wasn’t particularly fond of Tim being in my home, but he could protect Dominique when I couldn’t. Having a busted-up wolf to protect you was better than nothing. I woke up to find myself in a dark room. My body was tired, and I needed blood. I slowly moved into a sitting position and realized I was on a bed in some hospital room. I didn’t see any windows whatsoever. I smelled a faint trace of wolf. I assumed I was in a werewolf hospital. I wasn’t sure how long I had been here. I moved off the bed and immediately hit the floor as my body was wracked with pain. I lay there for hours before finally mustering the strength to crawl towards the door. I pulled back and began to feel pain in my side and stomach. I doubled over, and my knees hit the floor. Nicholas stepped back as I screamed in pain. My wounds were starting to close at a rapid rate. My body was re-knitting itself from the inside out, and it was a horrible pain. Without blood for the past two days, my body had not dealt with the damage Jacob had caused. My body was on fire.
