Clasping Leah’s hand like I was afraid to let go even for a second, I led her up the elevator and soon we arrived at my office, none of us saying a word the entire time. Upon getting to my office I let go of her and watched her settle down in one of the seats, acting nonchalant.

“Care to tell me what you were doing with that guy downstairs?” I asked, not bothering to sit and going over to stand in front of her.

“I told you, his wife suddenly attacked me from nowhere,” she said in a bored tone.

“So, you mean to tell me that you were just standing in the parking lot and the lady randomly attacked you?” I queried, doubting the authenticity of what she said.

Honestly, I feel like my sister has been lying to me for the past three years. Starting from the day I opened my eyes at a hospital here in Texas. That day, she was the only person next to me. I could recall what she told me that day.
