Chapter Seventy Eight

Matt

The days went by painfully slow. They consisted of screaming outside my door, gross food delivered by random rogues I had never seen before, and the occasional visit from Hodges. Whenever I saw Hodges, the conversations were never really informative and left me frustrated. He kept his cards close to his chest, and it got to the point where just seeing him made me want to hawk a loogie in his face.

“Matt, are you even listening to me?” Hodges voiced polluted the sanctuary of my mind.

“No, I am not.” I dryly replied; I didn’t even bother looking at him. I kept my eyes glued to the tiny beam of daylight streaming into the room. Goddess, how I missed the feel of sunshine on my skin. I missed shifting into my wolf form, feeling the soil beneath the pads of my paws. I even missed the lovesick wolf who lived in my mind who drooled over every female who was nice to us. I wondered what Pan would do if I ever got to see Pru again without being drugged or shackled in
