ANGELIQUE SLOAN’S POVIt’s been a few days since I’ve last seen Greyson. I seriously did everything that I could to avoid getting in contact with him. We weren’t even having any sort of communication online since I lost my phone. Since the days that we haven’t been together, I haven’t eaten anything.“Damn, I never imagined that living my life alone would be this difficult for me to get by,” I mumbled to myself as I tortured myself by staring at the people inside the restaurant who were cheerfully eating.“Aren’t you that imbecile woman who called herself Greyson’s secretary and even gave me the documents of Greyson?” a familiar lady’s voice asked from the other side.I turned to face her and wasn’t surprised to see the lady from the seventh floor of that building. “Did Greyson tell you to come and search for me? If he did, then kindly tell him that I have no plan to return to where he is,” I said instead of answering her question in a polite way.She raised her brow in confusion. “
ANGELIQUE SLOAN’S POVUp until this point, even though I’ve heard the side of Airi, I still couldn’t believe what I discovered. I can’t properly process how much Greyson has drastically changed his attitude to be this pathetic. He might have his share of reasons as well as why he had to play around with women as he pleased, or whatever it was that led him to the edge of the cliff to only be left with that kind of choice.Airi suggested that I spend a few days and nights in their house while I still haven’t found one to stay in, but I politely refused and told her that I'd be the one to settle things out. I heaved out a loud sigh in realization that I lied just for the sake of not getting her involved with Greyson any longer. In fact, I didn’t even have a single idea of how I would be able to survive the rest of the day.“Have you really made up your mind?” Airi asked, in an attempt to persuade me.I nodded my head once. “Yeah. Besides, it wouldn’t look too good if he found out that
ANGELIQUE SLOAN’S POVI know that my movements have been terrible since I’m scheming something hideous, but it doesn’t seem like Greyson even cared. “You’re trying to seduce me, aren’t you?” he whispered to my ear as he was pulling me towards the entrance of his bar until we finally reached the same room that both Greyson and Kim used. “You were never the kind of girl who had an interest in putting on lipstick. And besides, I’ve taken a lot of women to bed already; I can see the lust hidden deep within your eyes even if you don’t speak.”I tried so hard to hide the fact that I was nervous about what else he would be able to notice. “Everything and everyone can change, and fortunately, I’m one of those people. It would be a disgrace if I’d be stuck as the same person that you once knew.” I reasoned my way out, which I soon followed with a wink and a bite on my lip. There was a short pause on Greyson’s facial expression before he smirked, and that was the signal for me to commence my
ANGELIQUE SLOAN’S POV“What’s the point of getting your hopes high that Greyson will still go back to you? You should get over it and move on, Airi. The past is past. There are still plenty of men out there who’s way better than him either way,” I murmured, despite knowing that whatever I’d say would actually have no effect on her or whatever it was that she’s scheming.“You’re one to talk, Angelique. Don’t forget that we’re basically in the same situation—stop pretending as if Greyson has serious romantic affection for you,” Airi grunted while she was staring at her fingernails with her eyes full of amusement, as if to tell me that she really doesn’t care about a word that I’ll say. “I appreciate your help, though.” A smirk was shown on her lips as she walked closer to where Greyson was.I’m getting this weird feeling that I’m somehow inside a dream that I started against my will. This wasn’t the first time that I felt this way. It was the same as the day that Greyson gave me that r
ANGELIQUE SLOAN’S POV“Have you decided what you’re going to do about your parents now, Angelique?” Greyson questioned me the instant that he opened his eyes.He has been asleep for quite a while now, and I was the first one to awaken because of the noise that kept coming from my own stomach. We were stranded inside his bar and have no other place to go with this pouring rain that’s been going on for weeks now.His query was based on the recent news that was announced this morning. The detectives have been able to locate the bodies of both my mother and my father, prior to what Greyson told me about my mom. The forensics team was also able to detect some fingerprints on the crime scene, which means that it wouldn’t be long before they would figure out whose fingerprints those were, wherein I might actually be at risk, especially since I’m included in their list of suspects.“I don’t think that I should worry about anything just yet. They would most probably wait for my damn mother t
ANGELIQUE SLOAN'S POVMoments of silence occurred between Greyson and me right after I heard what he said. I was confused about whether I should believe what he said or have doubts, considering how that woman from earlier told me that my mother's inside the other building. "Are you sure? Did you already search thoroughly inside or ask some of the employees there?" I inquired, in hopes that he would simply nod his head as a response. However, Greyson walked ahead of me, returning to the place where I first lived. "Let's go home. We haven't eaten a single meal yet, and besides, I'm already getting exhausted," he said, totally ignoring the question that I had.As much as I didn't want to disobey his order, I stood still in the same spot where he left me. "You can go first. I still have to double check here in case you missed a spot," I said with a straight face so that he could sense that I wasn't kidding around.I noticed how he furrowed his brows. "Don't you trust me, Angelique?" he a
ANGELIQUE SLOAN'S POVAs soon as the body above the bed was illuminated with Greyson's phone, I screamed as I lost balance and fell to the ground, where I bathed in the woman's blood. My mind couldn't comprehend the current situation at all. It doesn't make sense how the police officer, Joy Alcaraz, was inside the room that's designated for my mother. And most of all, she's no longer breathing. There's no more way for either Greyson and I to save her, or at least those medical folks downstairs."W-w-what's going on here, Greyson? Why is that lady there instead of my mother?" I asked in a hysterical state. "You probably know what occurred here judging by what you said before we entered this building, Greyson. Explain everything to me in detail right now," I commanded him, trying to sound like I wasn't about to go nuts."This is why I stopped you earlier. The people inside here aren't as sane as you thought. They all have loose screws in their heads and no one would be able to wake th
ANGELIQUE SLOAN’S POVTears and a mixture of my blood spread on the floor. I kept on panting as I gasped for breath, continuing to run for my life. I was still fortunate enough that my feet weren’t abandoning me; I would have been long gone now if they suddenly gave up on me. The dark scenery of where I am heading makes me somewhat scared, but there’s nothing else that I should be frightened of besides my parents, who wouldn’t even stop chasing me from behind. I don’t understand what’s their deal; they have always been like this since the day that I was born. I can’t even remember a day wherein they wouldn’t lay their hands on me just to give me pain rather than the tender love that I should be receiving from a normal family. I sometimes wonder if I was actually adopted. I just couldn’t find any other reasons why they would be acting this way against me, as if they seriously didn’t want to see me near them. But if that’s the case, then they should have given me permission to live
