Chapter 20 - The Caller

ANGELIQUE SLOAN'S POV

As soon as the body above the bed was illuminated with Greyson's phone, I screamed as I lost balance and fell to the ground, where I bathed in the woman's blood.

My mind couldn't comprehend the current situation at all. It doesn't make sense how the police officer, Joy Alcaraz, was inside the room that's designated for my mother. And most of all, she's no longer breathing.

There's no more way for either Greyson and I to save her, or at least those medical folks downstairs.

"W-w-what's going on here, Greyson? Why is that lady there instead of my mother?" I asked in a hysterical state. "You probably know what occurred here judging by what you said before we entered this building, Greyson. Explain everything to me in detail right now," I commanded him, trying to sound like I wasn't about to go nuts.
