Chapter Twenty-Six: Paige

“Alpha,” Sammie says. “What are you doing here? You know, I’d be more than happy to cook for you. You only have to ask.”

Ash sends a small growl in her direction. Colin’s lips curve.

“Paige and I can manage. Thanks though, Sammie. We’re nearly done. You can come back after we’ve cleaned our mess.”

“Nonsense, I’ll do it for you. You could go back to bed, and I’ll bring you some better food.”

I swear, I can feel my skin turn green with jealousy. Sammie sees me sitting right here, yet she has the guts to hit on Colin.

“Don’t worry your pretty little head, Sammie. I make sure he eats well when he’s in bed. In fact, I think he’s ready for more, so we’ll be going now. You can handle the cleanup, right?”

Colin chokes back a laugh and stands to leave with me. I walk past Sammie, never wavering from her gaze. Colin is close behind me but stops when Sammie puts her hand on his arm. What is with this girl?
