Mara’s POV

The heat was frightening and I was scared at how raging it was. We ran downstairs and I picked up a fire extinguisher from the wall in the gym room. It was the only one there, Rhys had the other one.

“Try to avoid the smoke, it’s not good for you” Rhys shouted out to me. I was not thinking of myself, I was thinking of the books we had wanted to pick up and the chances of it being untouched.

They were the only books that could tell us about my werewolf heritage. It needed to be saved by all means.

“This cannot put off the fire! We need backup equipment!” Rhys yelled, jolting me out of my thoughts.

“Where can we get that?” I asked him, as the contents of the extinguisher finished.

He sighed and pulled me out of the smoky haven. Other pack members were throwing buckets and buckets of water in there, it was an unfruitful but desperate attempt.

“It’s in the warehouse just beside the garage.” He said and pulled me out of there.

“But that’s really far away” I commente
