Rhys pov

Sam snickered and rolled his eyes, “ you have always been my enemy,” he responded to her aggressively.

His statement tore her and made her burst into a fresh round of tears. I pulled her to my chest and enveloped her in a warm hug.

“ He… he used to be my good friend,” she sobbed and teared up more. I felt a liquid seep through my shirt and I needed no soothsayer to tell me that it was her tears.

I brushed my hand over her hair and consoled her, “ stop crying, he isn't worth your tears, can you see that he is not even repentant?” I ran my hand over her back gently.

“ Even though I felt that he had something to do with yesternight, I still had that little trust in him that it was probably one of his friends and not him. I guessed I judged wrongly,” she poured out her mind and sniffed.

“ It's okay, everything will be fine,” she finally calmed down and laid her head on my chest.
