Mara’s pov

Ray of sunlight seeped through the cotton and settled down on my face, I used my palm to obstruct it as I used to other one to cover my mouth from the yawn that threatened to escape from my mouth.

“ Where am I? I asked no one in particular as I stared around the room in a dumbfounded expression.

“ Ma'am, you are awake,” a maid ran to my side with a smile. The smile was that of relief which made me wonder what has happened while I was in deep slumber.

“ Water please,” I requested in a hoarse voice, my throat hurts Soo much and It needs to be moistened.

“ Here ma'am,” she handed me a water in a tray and beside it was porridge and soup.

I took and drank just the water before placing the tray in the bedside table.
