Rhys’s Pov

Her face was lit up and the wolves cheered on as I smiled softly at her.

“Thank you. For that,” she said as the wolves went to pack up the remains of the burnt library.

“I should be thanking you, we all should be.” I responded. “Wait here, let me get things done upstairs. Azura would accompany you back to your room, rest please, I’ll see you later.”

“Okay,” she agreed too easily and I caught the weariness and tiredness in her expression. She was too tired to argue.

I hurried upstairs and back into the smoky expanse of the library, it was totally finished and there was nothing left of it.

I was at least relieved nobody had died but I was irritated that we couldn’t get a hold of the book.

I went over to the section it had been and I bent to pick up the ashes. It was really gone.

“I’m sorry about the mess Alpha,” someone said as he passed and I nodded. Their loyalty kept me going most times.

“Alpha!” A maid called from behind me and I turned to see Azura’s assist
