Emily's POV

"Come in"

My mind was occupied with many thoughts of the past few days as I stood in front of the door.

The voice that responded sounded familiar. I thought back to who I could connect the voice with and suddenly a gasped escaped my lips.

Alicia.

She was one person I had avoided when I lived at the mansion. I had been a bit glad about her absence but now that she was around, I felt the mute, timid Emily trying to resurface.

"Come in!"

I shook my head and sent that old Emily back to the grave, taking confident steps into the mansion.

"Good morning, Mrs Wilson. Good morning, Ms Lola", I greeted wth my usual firm but chirpy tone.

Lola scowled at me and Alicia had a deep-seated frown on her face.

"Am I invisible or something?", she spoke up immediately.

"Oh. Hi. Good morning", I greeted, wondering why the tension in the room was so tense and cold.

That was none of my business anyway. I was only here to do my job and that was what I would do.
