Emily's POV

One hundred million?!

I felt a wave of weakness hit me at Alicia's words.

"I-I am so sorry. I did not know it cost so much," I admitted, trying to hide the nervousness in my voice.

She wore a smug expression on her face as her lips tilted upward in a mocking smile.

"No, dear. It actually costs more than that," she corrected, and I scoffed mentally.

I should have just left the phone there.

"I'll try to pay it back..." I trailed off.

Lola rolled her eyes.

"Really? A hundred million dollars!" she exclaimed, and I shot her a small smile when what I really wanted to do was to wipe that mockery on her face away with a slap.
