Lola's POV

"Anna, do you think I made the right choice by agreeing to see how it goes with Max?" I asked my best friend over our usual phone call.

She sighed.

"It depends on why, Emily. You know your heart and how fragile it is when it comes to the subject of emotions and relationships. You can see how it goes, but then you would have to decide where he stands in your life."

I gave a small smile at her words.

"That's true. Thank you."

"So you mentioned seeing Alicia at the restaurant with a guy while on your date with Max. What did she say?"

I rolled my eyes.

"All she said was 'fancy seeing you here,' but she did have a look in her eyes that I could not quite place my finger on," I explained, feeling thoughtful for a moment.

"Do you think there was more to her words?"

"It doesn't matter. As long as I'm not doing anything wrong, and she is a stranger to me, I don't care."

"Yes, boss," she replied jokingly.

We both laughed over the phone, and I thanked her for saving me from my meeting
