LIAM’S POV:

“So what's the bad news?” Mia’s mom asked with a hitched breath.

“She lost the baby” was what I imagined the doctor saying.

I snapped out of the negative thoughts going on in my mind. How can I think of something so horrible happening to Mia? I think I finally lost it.

“Get it together Liam” I muttered to myself as I shook my head to shake off all the negative thoughts.

“The bad news is that she might have complications which may lead to another operation during childbirth because a small part of her womb was slightly affected by the knife,” the doctor explained with a grim face.

I quickly inhaled a deep breath at the news. If only I hadn't eavesdropped and rushed in to save Mia earlier.

“How can she go through another operation?” I asked myself, feeling guilty.

Another operation means additional pain, and the last thing I want for Mia is for her to get hurt again.
