When we got out of the car, a few people wearing white clothes and robes came running in our direction. They took Lansford on a bed with wheels and rushed him into this huge building that seemed to be made of pure glass. I had seen this in the magical waters but I did not know what the humans called it.

“Young miss, we should disinfect your wound,” one of the ladies said.

Just then, it came to me that I had a cut on my cheek after that crazy woman slapped me. Without saying anything, I followed the lead of the lady in white while one of Lansford’s men tailed me behind. It was not like I was going to run away when I was not even familiar with this place. Plus, I could not simply abandon that womanizer now that he had my bead. For the next full moon, I must cultivate the remaining power I have to regain what I had lost.

“Where are they taking Lansford?” I asked the woman, my gaze following the group of people pushing
