Fifty-four

MELISSA’S POV

.

I woke up, panting hard, and sweat dripping, down to my chin. That was a horrible dream, one that I prayed never to have, anymore. Could it be my guilt, haunting me? I really hope that Stefan is alive, and it wasn’t his resentful ghost, that appeared to me while I was asleep.

I started preparing for work as I wouldn’t want to be late, at all. I got to work, early, and started working, but I couldn’t fully concentrate. It felt as If Stefan wasn’t here as I had not seen him. This got me more worried.

When it was break, I went to the vending machine and ordered a cola, but I couldn’t drink the cola, and only looked at the stairs, leading to the rooftop. I was curious, but I wouldn’t dare to go to the rooftop, all by myself. What if it was Stefan’s dead body I met there, and I was blamed for it, and taken to jail? But that was not the main thing, I was going to feel bad, all my life.

Then a voice interrupted my thoughts.
