Twenty-eight

MELISSA’S POV

The next day, I got ready for work and made sure that I was not going to be late. Fortunately, I was able to get to work, early and I met Edward, working on some things.

“Hey, Edward.” I greeted him as I sat on my chair and dropped my bag.

“Hey. How was your night?” He asked as he faced me.

“It was splendid, thanks.”

I wanted to tell him about my plans that had changed, but I didn’t know how to put it to him. I had already put myself in his shoes. If anyone had disappointed me, especially someone I least expected it from, I wasn’t going to be happy, so knowing this, made it hard for me to tell him about the changed plans.

“Uhm… Why do I feel like you have something to say to me?” Edward asked as he turned to me.

“Why do you think so?” I asked, trying to keep my cool, because it was all of a sudden.

“Well, you haven’t settled down and your legs aren’t completely under your desk. Your body movement shows that you aren’t done with me.” He said, with his gaze, fixed on me.
