Twenty-nine

STEFAN’S POV

It seemed to me like she was regaining her memory or something and I wanted to call her Jana, in case she was back to Jana.

“Melissa? Melissa? Jana?” I called out to her, holding her tight.

Then she looked up at me, with her lips, dry. It seemed as if she wanted to speak, but the words couldn’t come out of her mouth.

“Alright, you just need to gain your strength, back. Just sit and relax.” I said as I helped her to sit and rest her back.

After a few minutes, she looked much better.

“Are you feeling better now?” I asked, out of concern.

“Yes, I am much better. Thank you.” She said as she stood up.

“You are about to take your leave?” I asked, desiring more time with her.

“Yes. And I would love it if you never call me by the name, Jana, anymore.” She said, respectfully, then left.

I felt a bit unhappy, because my hopes were raised, thinking that she would be back to being Jana, but that wasn’t the case. It seemed as if hearing the name, Jana, made her annoyed. Or maybe beca
