CHAPTER 2

"As sharp as a bowling ball." Atarah giggled as she approached Amon, who rose an eyebrow at her as his gaze shifted to her direction.

"Oh, sorry...... I'm Atarah Langris."

His full blue but neatly trimmed hair made him appearance composed, his eyes had the same color as blue as the deep sea. He was definitely handsome and lean and his calm nature made him mysterious, it had only been a month since Atarah started schooling.

She hadn't been paying attention to different guys because, her thoughts were on someone already.

"Amon Feris." He introduced, his eyes swiftly returned to his book.

"I figured that got you cracking." He said with a smile, Tiana came along with Atarah. She was her first friend and perhaps maybe her only friend.

"Thanks..........for helping us. I'm Tiana Faye, you can.......call me Tia." Tiana nearly startled as his frosty eyes landed on her.

"You're welcome." He realized that the girls weren't leaving and he closed his book, he wasn't the type to socialize a lot with people but it seemed like he had no choice.

"Classes are over for today, why don't we all grab something to bite." Atarah invited and Amon smiled as his eyes met hers.

"Alright, why not." His calm tone was unnerving to both girls.

The three of them made their way to the cafeteria of the school. They could easily head outside to eat but it didn't really matter, their society wasn't like the human world where money was required to eat different qualities of food.

The food was probably the same and available to everyone elsewhere.

They were served a full tray of varieties of meats and aromatic but yet delicious plants.

"Not bad." Tiana said as she tasted the food with a mouth full. They both gave her a stare like she had rushed the food.

"What? It's my first time." she defended.

"Then, it's fine." Amon said softly and shifted his gaze to Atarah.

"So........." They both said in unison and Atarah smiled.

"You first." She said politely and Amon respectfully accepted the invitation.

"Let me start with an introduction then again, I am Amon Feris and I hear, you are the Alpha's daughter, is that true?" He asked narrowing his icy glare.

Atarah thought she felt her body shiver at the sight of his eyes.

"Well, I am not related to him by blood if that is why you are asking but yes, he is my father." She answered honestly.

"Your perspicuous features gave it away." Amon said cautiously, her long curly blazing golden hair and her near silver looking eyes were very uncommon, even among werewolves.

It was common knowledge that the most dominant eye color was either brown and black among the wolves but due to the blessings of the goddess and the affinities of each wolf or whenever their abilities were in use. Their eye color changes but yet, Atarah wasn't a wolf but her eye color turns silver.

"You mean my eyes don't you?" Her hair too drew unusual attention to herself.

Amon nodded his head, he had only eaten a bit of his food since the conversation started.

"It's very unusual for a human to have silver eyes, according to the books. I have read."

Tiana added to their conversation, her plate was half empty. Amon smiled at Tiana at the completion of his sentence and she cocked her head to a side.

"Yeah, which means you are hiding..........."

"Something." Tiana did it again and for a moment, Atarah thought that they had planned it.

All of a sudden their gazes were focused on Atarah, She felt uncomfortable as their face grew closer to her and she squealed.

"Fine. I will tell you, just promise not to tell anyone." Amon and Tiana looked at each other and nodded their heads.

"Alright, so the thing is........it's like a reflex action. My eyes turn silver involuntarily and it's makes me see your............true wolf form."

She said something outrageous and Tiana cracked a small laugh.

"You're kidding right, that means right now. As you are looking at us, you are seeing us as wolves not in our human form."

Atarah nodded her head and Amon shook his head in disbelieve.

"It's like seeing people naked." He said plainly and Atarah panicked.

"It's........ it's..... nothing like that, I.........I...... can't even control it, it's........not my fault." She said and Amon just hummed thoughtfully.

"How can you not believe me? Even after I had just told you." She said annoyed pursing her lips.

"it's almost like you look cuter when you are angry." He released another plain statement.

"Why would you say something like that?" Her face flushed and Amon face reddened for the first time.

"I.......I didn't actually mean it like that, sorry....I have a bad habit of being too direct." He said lightly touching the base of his hair.

"Well, that got odd. Fast." Tiana said looking at both of them, after a minute of uncomfortable silence.

"So, what are your plans after school?" Tiana asked and both Atarah and Amon happily jumped on the question.

"Well, I’m planning on watching the trails this night, it’s the first one this year." Amon answered plainly, the trails was an event that werewolves took to select a faction of the pack, they wanted to engage in.

"Me too." Tiana said excited and she took another bold step.

"Should we go together?" She asked and his eyes shifted to Atarah.

"Yeah........ Atarah, are you coming?"

"Probably." She said with a hint of dubiety, her eyes looking elsewhere.

Tiana followed her gaze and they were on three guys seating across their right wing passing on creepy gazes at Atarah.

"What's going on?" Tiana asked her and Atarah answered with a wry smile across her face.

"Something interesting."

Amon sat down quietly analyzing the situation as one of the boys seated got up and started walking towards Atarah.

He wasn't so tall, but he was muscular and his black hair and eyes wasn't anything attractive.

On a firm hold on the situation, one could say indisputably there was nothing special about him.

"Um......hey......" He said nervously to both girls and Tiana frowned.

"Um........My friend over there thinks you are cute and he would like you to be his............."

"That's revolting, your friend couldn't come and ask me out himself.  I refuse to hear anymore." Atarah first impression of him and his friends was that they were spineless.

Before, he could turn to Tiana she hastily declined.

"Sorry, no thanks. I have plans already."

"Oh." The boy turned around with a dejected look and walked back.

"Well, that was harsh." Amon said softly, naturally as a boy. He could understand, how dispiriting rejected could be.

"They brought it down to themselves and the way, the others stared at me, it was disturbing." Atarah said frowning at her food and Tiana slapped her back lightly.

"I bet, you have a lover somewhere don't you." She exclaimed clamorously.

Atarah's face reddened like a tomato and she vehemently denied it.

"Of course not! I.........I have other things on my mind."

"It's pretty obvious when you sound like that, Atarah." Amon said calmly and stood up with his tray.

"What? Are you leaving?" Tiana gave Amon a look.

"Yes, I have to get ready before we go for the trials this night." He said tiredly and Tiana stood up too.

"Can I follow you?" she sounded cute and slightly bold, Amon gazed at Atarah and returned his gaze back to Tiana and smiled.

"If you want too." A blissful smile appeared on her face as she followed Amon and Atarah sighed.

"There she goes, abandoning me for a guy." Atarah whispered, she wasn't craving after Amon but he had some unique features but she had someone else.

She took her bag and dropped her tray as she walked out of the cafeteria, heading towards home.
