chapter 80: Lumiére's rescue

~ Reagan's POV~

Allicin? It had been ages since Reagan had even heard of that stuff. It was like a forgotten secret, something from a distant time, an abomination that shouldn't even exist. Finding Allicin nowadays was as rare as spotting a unicorn. Yet, somehow, it had made its way into Raven's home, and Lumiére was trapped inside.

Raven, who was also Phoenix. She was also the very person who had led a mission to wipe out their kind. Reagan didn't even want to imagine how Lumiére had ended up in this situation, willingly entering a house where the scent of Allicin was present.

Lumiére should have sensed the scent the moment he stepped foot inside the house and the fact that he didn't was sending the wrong message to Reagan.

Reagan couldn't help but wonder how distracted and vulnerable Lumiére must have been to miss such a strong smell. He shook his head in disbelief. Inhaling Allicin wouldn't be deadly for a High Lord, but it would weaken Lumiére and disable his powers for a while.
