CHAPTER 25

Riley kept squealing and doing different tricks in the water. It genuinely looked like she was having the time of her life and I was like a proud mother hen for it.

I remembered seeing a lake the last time I wandered off on one of those days when my head was everywhere.

So my brain let off a light bulb when I thought about what we could do for fun. I also did it to cheer Ri up.

I know she deserves to smile. She deserves every bit of happiness I can provide for her.

I made my way through the water floating backwards and listening to her screams. It was a perfect day and I was well rested.

“You know, I really believed you were bringing me here to execute me” she said chuckling.

She swam close to me, watching me float on my back, smiling.

“You've always had a creative imagination. But why would I want to ‘execute’ you like you say?” I asked teasingly.

“Oh, you know. Revenge for all the things I did to you growing up. All the pranks I pulled on you” she said hysterically.
