CHAPTER 18

When I arrived at the hospital, I immediately rushed towards my friend’s room. I saw her at the far corner of the room, staring blankly into space while auntie was there, caressing her hair gently.

Cassandra’s mom looked at me when she noticed my presence. A bitter smile formed into her lips before tapping on her daughter’s shoulder. 

“My child, Ayesha’s here.” 

Her face slowly turned to look at me as I made my way to sit by her side. Auntie in turn, stood up from her seat and walked towards the door. 

“I’ll just buy some food for us to eat,” she said and I nodded. 

I gazed back to look at my friend again and held her hand. What happened? I hope it’s not what I think it is. 

My eyes automatically landed on her stomach and so I closed my eyes for a second, biting my lower lip. 

Please… 

When I heard a sob escaped her lips, I opened my eyes again. She weakly smiled at me while tears were starting to build on her brown orbs.&nb
