CHAPTER 33

It’s already late yet Daevon is still in our house. He’s playing with my daughter in the living room while the three of us stood there in the kitchen, talking among ourselves.

“So what’s your plan?” my dad asked casually while drinking his coffee. Both of them were eyeing me, waiting for me to speak.

I only cupped my chin using my hand and massaged my temple. 

“I don’t know. I need to talk to him first,” I said before looking at them. 

My mom smiled at me thinly and gently patted me on my shoulder. “Everything will be okay,” she reassured. “I can feel it, he still loves you so give him a chance.” 

A sad smile roamed my lips and let out a sigh. 

You got your gut feeling wrong, mom. 

I shook my head. As I was beginning to be lost in thoughts, I suddenly felt a presence behind my back. 

“Let’s talk,” a baritonic voice said. 

I can feel the same fear crawling down my chest but I tried to remove it. I turned to him with a life
