CHAPTER 36

DAEVON'S POV

It’s been a few hours yet until now she’s not yet waking up. What happened earlier really drained her. 

I heard a knock on the door before my friend Xenoah came insicde. I only gave him a thin smile as he patted my shoulder. 

“I owe you a lot,” I said emotionally and turned to look at my wife again laying on the hospital bed. 

I felt his presence still there, gazing at Ayesha for a few seconds. 

“She really loves you,” he said.

A bitter smile crept into my lips as I closed my eyes.

“I don’t know if I should be happy or not by that,” I weakly uttered under my breath.

I gently caressed her face. 

“Because of her love for me, she almost lost her life. Not only her but also…” I gulped and turned to look at her stomach. “…our soon to be second child,” I added.

I felt Xenoah’s hand patting my shoulder again.

“I didn’t expect what she did. I know she loves me but I didn’t think she’d pick me over her own life,” I nar
