Chapter-04

Monday morning,

It was lunchtime and as usual, the office canteen was packed with people.

“Miss Brown, someone is here to meet you.” Janet was having her lunch in the company’s canteen when someone came to inform her.

She was sitting in a desolate corner and it was surprising anyone could find her there.

Janet got her job in the design department of Wilson Group last month and because of her shy nature, she didn’t make many friends.

Neither did she think someone would know her.

But the most surprising thing was nobody knew she worked here except her mom, so she was confused about who came to meet her.

Even so, she got up and left to see who was there.

She took the elevator and went downstairs as Wilson’s group has a separate lounge for guests, and they can talk there in silence.

Whoever the person was, Janet had a bad promotion about that.

As she expected, the person who came to meet her was none other than Sofia, her stepsister, who could be taken as her biggest rival.

Though Robert has spent all his affection and money on Sophia since he left Janet’s family, Sofia can be taken as the dumbest person in the world.

Even money couldn’t manage to buy her a place in a well-known university, whereas Janet studied at the top university of Sydney and finished her graduation in design.

So, as expected from Sophia, she often made trouble for Janer, but Janet didn’t expect her to find out about her workplace.

She knew if it was Sofia who had come here, she must have a motive which can’t be in favor of Janet.

“What are you doing here?” Janet asked Sofia, distaste evident on her face.

“Oh, Jenny, I heard you got a job in the Wilson group. Dad wanted me to check if they were treating you well?” Sofia said in her unbearable voice.

“From when my life is any of your business?” Janet couldn’t tolerate her presence.

If it was her home, she would have at least tried to bear with her, but it was the Wilson group, and she didn’t want Sofia’s tricky ass to create any problem for her.

“How ungrateful!” Sofia yelled out, making Janet feel a headache.

“Do the people of the Wilson group know what an ungrateful, illiterate bitch they have hired?” Sofia started to create a scene and as usual, she could see a few people turning their way.

Though they were inside a room, its soundproofing wasn’t on par with Sofia’s shrill scream. And the glass wall was easy access for people to see what was happening inside.

“Sofia, this is not your home, neither it’s a place where you can create problems. If you don’t get lost from here in a minute, don’t blame me if I call the security.” Janet warned her being annoyed.

“You…how could you…. I am your sister, how could you kick me out of your office? Janet, don’t fly much, I can easily kick you out of this office if I want?” Sofia was boasting, and yelling so that everyone could hear their conversation.

“You Janet Brown…. is nothing but a dog who has been abandoned by her father?” Sofia was yelling in her top voice.

“Boring,” Janet said and turned around to leave.

She knew if she stayed Sofia would only run her tongue and say something hurtful.

Janet has already been accustomed to her nature.

It was useless to argue with her, as it would only backfire herself.

Whatever Janet would say, Sofia would complain to Robert, and Robert would come running to seek justice for his beloved daughter.

Janet was already in an emotional mess, she didn’t want to entertain Sofia.

“Janet, don’t think I will leave you alone, You are nothing but a slut. I will make you leave the Wilson group soon. Just wait.” Sofia was threatening her.

Janet know Sofia can do many things, but the Wilson group wasn’t something anyone can manipulate.

Robert was a businessman, but his worth was nothing in front of the Wilson group.

Janet knew it was Sofia’s jealousy making her rage like this, but Janet never cared, why would she do it now?

Janet took the elevator and went upstairs, paying Sofia no head.

At the same time, when Janet’s elevator closed, the CEO’s private elevator opened and

Edwin was coming down to leave for his grandparent’s home when he noticed someone yelling in the lounge area.

His face frowned with dissatisfaction.

The receptionist ran over, seeing him coming down without Ben.

Edwin looked at her, and a single glance was enough to make him tremble.

“Sir, this girl is a relative of someone and she came to visit her, I don’t know why she was making a scene….” The receptionist was aware of how much Edwin hated nuisance in his company.

“Kick her out,” Edwin ordered simply.

“And her relative, tell Ben to fire her, too. I don’t want a repeat of this incident.” Edwin said and walked out of the company.

Normally Edwin didn’t take the elevator to the first floor he always got down to the parking area.

But Ben was waiting for him at the doorstep with his car, Edwin didn’t expect he would see such a scene in his company.

What was his staff doing when this good-for-nothing lady was making a scene?

He needed to talk with Ben to change his staff.

Wilson’s group represents the economy of Australia, how can he let some useless piece of shit tarnish its reputation?

And who was this employee whose personal life was so chaotic?

He would rather fire her than make his company a stage of drama.

Edwin walked out of the company and noticed Ben was waiting for him in his car.

He opened the backdoor, but Edwin didn’t enter.

Ben was confused about what made him stop, but he didn’t need to wait.

“This is how you manage your work? I don’t want to see this again.” Edwin left those words and entered the car, closing the door behind him.

Before he could ask what had happened, the car left the road, leaving him behind with his dumbfound mind.

Ben knew something had irked Edwin again, and without wasting time he went inside to solve the problem.
