Chapter thirteen.

"Can't you fit in the passenger seat?" He asked with a frown, ignoring her question when he saw that she decided to sit in the back seat instead.

Kathy couldn't hide her exasperation with Dominic and rolled her eyes.

"Mr. CEO, we don't have the same status. I don't have the right to sit in your passenger seat," Kathy replied, leaving Dominic shocked by her words. The implication was that they weren't as close as he had believed. He felt helpless, having just defended Kathy, only to have her reject his support.

Kathy was unaware of Dominic's thoughts, as her focus was on her swollen left foot. She attributed the swelling to Xavier's erratic behavior, believing that if he hadn't acted out, she wouldn't find herself in such a wretched state. As she gently touched her foot, a sudden intense pain shot through her, causing her complexion to turn pale.

Observing Kathy's face turning pallid through the rearview mirror, Dominic questioned her in confusion;

"What's the matter with you?"
