Chapter 33

Suna

A metallic fumbling resonated in the morning air, before I pushed the two-leaf balcony door outwards, revealing the gentle and dim morning ambience. The sun is barely up in the horizon, and although this street which houses noblemen and noblewomen weren’t usually as lively as the middle-class streets, they were especially quiet as the break of dawn.

I like this ambience. I like how I am able to wake up earlier than most people, and enjoyed the serenity the morning blessed me.

As I retracted away from the balcony window, I resumed on braiding my half-done hair while walking across the room to fetch a table. This morning’s menu is going to smell a bit smoky, so I better cook as close to the window as possible.

While I crossed the bed, I saw Clairmont, who was lying flat on the bed, had already opened his eyes and was staring at the ceiling.

“You’re up? Good morning.” My head turned briefly to Clairmont before return
