Alana's POV

A day has gone by since I said yes to Kai’s proposal. No matter how hard I tried to think less of my decision to be reclaimed by him, the thought still weighed heavily on my mind. Everything else had passed in a blur since that moment.

While many people in the pack are obviously against their Alpha's decision to reclaim me as his mate, I found myself in the difficult position of having to explain to Alex the reason behind my acceptance.

“Are you sure about this? I mean, getting claimed by that man is too much risk. You should be killing him and planning our escape out of here, not giving him a second chance." Alex’s words were filled with concern as he stared at me.

I sighed, biting at my inner cheek. “I’m fully aware of the risk I am taking, but we are too late to back down now. I’m going to kill him; it doesn’t matter what method I use, but be rest assured that I will.”

Alex seemed less convinced but still went ahead and nodded anyway. I bet he was just as tired as I was
