Chapter 128

Delilah's POV:

For the next whole day, I kept checking my phone for any text messages from Bianca. I didn't want to pressure her and hence decided to give her a day or two before pressing the matter but with every passing minute, my restlessness was spiking a notch as she was my last hope, and this silence from her felt nothing but eerie.

In the evening, my anxiety finally got the better of me and I just grabbed my phone and sent a text message to Bianca, "What's the update? Any success?"

My eyes kept gluing to the screen as I impatiently waited for her reply. After about half an hour, my phone pinged. My heart sank deeper in my chest as I read her message, "Nothing yet. I am still trying."

I hurled my phone on the bed with a groan and started pacing the room. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't even hear the door creaking open. It was only when I felt a pat on my shoulder did I jumped in fear.

I gawked at Addy and gasped, "You startled me!"
