Chapter forty

CORA’s POV….

I could see the anger and hatred in her eyes as I held on to her hand. She could have never believed that I would be able to stand up for myself, but lucky for me, I could. I twisted her hand as I placed it behind her, and she winced in pain.

"Don’t mistake my silence for weakness, Layla. Trust me, that’s the biggest mistake you can ever make, so don’t even try and commit that mistake." I told her, and just then, she kicked me, and I fell to the ground.

"The audacity. What gave you the right, fool? How dare you even touch me?" She yelled as she grabbed me by the chin. "You’ll pay for this, Cora. You’ll have to pay for it." She told me, and I struggled to get away from her.

She was annoying me; she was really getting on my nerves, and I hated that fact. If I let her continue with this, she would think it was okay to bully me, and I wouldn’t do anything about it, but that was far from the truth. I couldn’t let her bully me, not anymore at least, and with that, I pushed her
