HE JUST WANTED me and my children out of the way while they haggled about our fate. I scoffed to myself as I strapped my children to the back of my small sedan.

I did not feel anything that would signify that we were actually mates. The mate bond should have started to have an effect on me now, our emotions should be linked now.
