Chapter 36: The Storm (3)

Dylan's POV

"Oh, look who's coming!" She crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Bernie teasingly: "I thought you didn't remember your mother anymore!"

I heard those words and laughed.

As soon as she finished speaking, she took my hand and said, "Come in, Dylan; you look so tired!"

I smiled and followed Bernie's mother into the house, where his father was sitting in front of his laptop in the living room. As soon as he saw me, he reprimanded Bernie: "Why are you here now? Did you know your mother has been waiting all afternoon?"

Bernie was scolded so much I couldn't bear it, so I quickly replied: "My mother wants to go shopping today. I forgot to text you two."

When I finished, Bernie immediately smiled and made up, "That's why I came over here to apologize to these two!"

With that, we sat down across from him. Bernie pushed a glass of water in front of me, then said, "We'll be over to Dylan's for dinner later..."
