Mary paused at the door, her beating severely to the point that it almost became painful. She did not know if to concentrate on the deep blue eyes that was now piercing through her with it’s gaze, holding her hostage that she could not even look away, or if she should concentrate on her heart which seemed to plan to rebel against her entire body. It seemed to be working independently, on it’s own accord. Neither did she know if she should concentrate on her fears, her fears that seemed to be growing with every passing second. There he was, the supposed dangerous murderer, dangerous but ruthlessly handsome as well. His beautiful looks made her find it difficult to connect him to the supposed murder. With the way he stared at her, the first thought that registered in her head was to turn around and run away, far away from him and back home into her mother’s arms where she would be save from any danger. But she could not move, his eyes seemed to have glued her to the spot she stood
“Would you help me dry my hair?” He asked, his voice deeper than she could ever imagine. Only then did she notice the water dripping from his hair. “Why do you always forget to dry your hair after taking a shower?” She asked staring into his deep blue eyes. “Because of you”. “Huh!” “Because I know you would surely help me dry it” he smirked. “I do not think I even have to try to convince you to do it for me so I? After all you already offered by yourself to help me dry my hair always” he said suddenly pulling away from her, he rested on the chair and folded his arms across his chest. Mary seemed perplexed by his actions, she sat there quietly, not saying anything. “So are you going to help me?” He asked suddenly leaning towards her again. She tried to say something, but then she closed her mouth again. Her beat increased again. “What do you say?” He asked again jolting her from her thoughts. “Oh… Okay” she stammered. “I would just go get the dryer” she stood up q
Mary stood up and ran into the bathroom because if she had stayed, she would have given into the most lustful desires of the innermost part of her heart. And she did not want that, not with someone like Adonis. A cold blooded murderer who would not hesitate to kill her if he sees the need. Mary wrapped her arms around her body and sat on the toilet seat, trying to calm her fast breaths, and to quench the fire that had been ignites inside of her by Adonis kisses and touches. She stayed there for a few minutes, expecting to hear him knock on the door. She was already cooking up excuses to give when he does, but he did not. By the time she summoned courage and left the bathroom he was gone although his scent still hovered around her room, it was almost like he was still there. She could still feel the tingling feeling on her skin where he had touched her, she still felt hot from the assault his merciless fingers had meted out on her innocent body. Mary sat on the bed, her hand protect
Mary rushed out of her room immediately, and made her way to go and execute her plans. The keys to his study would definitely be inside his room, why did she not think of that earlier. She had not really been in his room, but she was certain she was going to break into it that’s evening and find those keys. Mary’s hope was almost squashed when she had almost gotten to the door of his room, what if he had equally locked it too? Mary still decided to keep hope alive anyway and moved on. She got to the front of his room and immediately got nervous for no reason. She placed her hand on the door knob, closed her eyes and said a silent prayer in her heart for the door to be open. Although it did not take long for Mary to have a reason to be really nervous. While her eyes were still closed, and her hand on the door knob. She felt the door push open, amazed that the door had to open on it’s own without her having to twist the door knob and opening it, Mary opened her eyes but almos
Mary’s heart started to beat fast again when he turned around to look at her. “You are still home?” She asked even though it was quite obvious that he was probably not going anywhere that day since he was not yet dressed for work at that time. “Shouldn’t you be happy to see me at home?” He asked with a smirk. Mary rolled her eyes at him again. He was being arrogant again. “How has it been going with Emma?” He asked taking a sip from the glass of water he held in his hand. “Good” she replied. “At least we’ve not encountered any mood swings in a long while” she said laughing. “I’m glad you are getting along” he suddenly looked serious. She nodded and in order to get rid of the awkwardness, she asked if he was not going to work, and why he was not dressed. He told her he was working from home that day, and also informed her that they would be going grocery shopping later in the day since the house was out of stock. Mary was actually looking forward to going shopping with
Mary gradually opened her eyes, one eye first and then the other. She looked around, it took a few minutes before she was able get a clear vision of her environment. Two people were standing by the side of the bed, she blinked severally to get a clearer view. It was Adonis and a woman dressed in a lab coat. She lifted herself up by her elbow, feeling a slight pain on her forehead. She looked around, she was on the bed in her room. She wondered how she had for there. She suddenly remembered the accident and how traumatized she had been when the break failed, it happened that she passes out as a result of shock from the minor accident that she had with Adonis car. Seeing that she was awake, Adonis rushed to the bed and sat close to her. “Thank goodness you are awake” he said putting his arms around her. “Are you okay? Don’t try to move too much okay! Thank goodness you are not badly hurt”. Mary had her eyes focused on his face, she had an irritated look on her face. “Do yo
Mary wondered who was so important that he was texting in his phone that he could not even spare a second from his phone to even look at her. She felt annoyed, it could be one of his numerous women. She stood there for some time, watching him and hoping that he would at least look at her. But he seemed to not even care about her presence there. She shut the fridge with a loud bang after taking her water, then she angrily walked away while dragging her feet along with her. Mary had no idea why she was angry, whether it was because Adonis trie to kill her, or if it was because he ignored her abd focused on his phone, or if it was because she felt he was texting other women or if it was his hypocrisy. "Whatever" Mary exclaimed when she got to her room. "I had better stop thinking about him". After he was a bloody murderer and had even tried to kill her few hours ago, she was very sure he must be disappointed, and even more than that she was very scared as well, what if he tried to
The next morning, Mary was surprised to find herself lying comfortably on the bed, she had remembered sitting on the chair and reading a book before she was eventually carried away by sleep. She could not even remember a line from what she read the previous night, it was such a pity that her effort to use the book to keep awake turned out to be futile. She sat up and looked to the other side to find her novel closed and kept neatly on the bedside table, she wondered if it was Adonis that had come into her room and helped her lye comfortably on the bed. "well who else?" She rolled her eyes. "He probably finally got time from whoever it was he was texting on his phone and had time for me". She stood up from her bed to go look through the window, into the garden. She suddenly remembered that she had to serve Emma's coffee that morning, "I better hurry up before she gets mad at me". While making her to the the kitchen she found Adonis in the sitting room, he was just sitting and sta
