Chapter 75 - Not Expecting This

My heart races as I stare down at my brother. His coloring is slightly better and not as pale. Is this the sign we have been hoping for? Is he going to make a full recovery now?

Next to me, my mother shakes her head. “I don’t understand. The report I had yesterday said nothing about him getting better. What happened? Have you changed his treatment or something?”

The couple of medical staff and the doctor on the other side of the bed look at each other and then over to my father before the doctor turns back towards us. “We can’t explain it. There is no plausible reason for his improved health. It is so strange.”

From the bed behind us, my father grunts, “But my son is improving. That is the important part.”

I can’t argue with him, and I’m glad my brother is recovering, but it is so odd.

When I was here, he didn’t look this good. My heart ached seeing him so broken.
