Different thoughts raged in my head all through the ride back home. I felt sore and I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I had fought in different battles and conquered Packs and rogues, but I became a weakling because I couldn't make what seemed like a simple choice.

What if Vera turned out dead, wouldn't it all be sorted? Just thinking about it alone felt so unacceptable. It felt like something that must not have happened and I wondered what I had been doing all year long trying to get rid of Vera. If I had, would I have turned miserable?

When we got back to the pack, I didn't go to the office. I returned to my chambers to lay down to rest. I had a lot to think about and I was feeling weak.
