The guard whom Derrick sent arrived bearing his message. "Killan is doing fine and keeping watch over Vera in the clinic. Here is the dress that you requested."

The dresses were packaged and taken away by the royal physician while Derrick commanded one of his men to take out the physician's maid.

"I am so sorry about all this, Your Highness. It's because of my absence," Derrick apologised.

"Stop the blame game. How was the mission?" I asked.

"The henchman is still on standby. The king is yet to reach out to our target. However, on the first day, we caught wind of some men who were reinforcing an attack initially. They were men from the palace, But they turned back as soon as they realised that the captor was released and alive."

"And the king?"

"We are still waiting for him to make contact with him. He hasn't sent any message to him since his release.

"Are you sure?" I asked. doubtfully

"Have you seen him since his release?"

"No, but his place was bustling
