“Gustav?” I stared at the handsome face of the Sherriff, as he smiled at me warmly.
“I’m sorry to disturb you,” he looked at me up and down, taking in my panda PJ’s. “I should’ve called, but I didn’t have your number.”
“Oh…no, it’s alright.” I moved aside to make way for him. “Would you like to come in?”
“It’s alright, really, I won’t be troubling you.” Gustav shook his head and then he held up a large takeout bag from Magnolia bakery. “I got back really late last night so I decided against visiting you, but I didn’t want these to go bad either.”
