Monica stood before us looking from me to Zara and back. Although she was shocked to see us there, she still smiled and conveniently stepped between Zara and me, pulling my arm.

“Kay… What are you holding? Let me have a look.” She stretched her hand towards the beautiful packing which had the shops name ‘Carving Time’ on it. I didn’t even notice the shop’s name. My whole attention was on Zara and how excited she looked.

I subconsciously evaded Monica. “It’s nothing.”

Monica stiffened but then pursed her lips. “Didn’t you bring anyone along? Why are you carrying this? Give it, I’ll do it.”

“No need.” I tell her straight.

For some reason I didn’t want anyone to see this. It was something that Zara and I shared and seemed private.

Monica doesn’t protest but silently glares at Zara who in return just sighs. I don’t know what Zara did to make Monica detest her so much. But then again, it would be even more weird if she liked Zara.
