14: Mae

I quickly got out of the cab that just stopped me in front of the FIA headquarters. I didn't have a penny on me to pay the driver with so I pleaded with him to let me go into the building and return with the fare for his taxi.

I was about to knock on the door to Omar's office when someone stopped me. I turned around and it was another agent.

"Mae?" He recognized me, thankfully.

"I need to talk to Omar, it's urgent."

"Come," he drew me to a corner."Don't meet Omar." He whispered to me.

"What?"

"Don't go to his office. Everyone here thinks you're never coming back. If anyone else sees you or if Omar sets his eyes on you, it might be bad for you."

"What are you saying?"

"Omar blacklisted you from the agency." He finally broke it to me.

I snorted wryly, not believing what I was being told."That's not possible."

"It is. Leave, so you don't get into trouble you don't deserve."
