Ethan’s POV

I woke up to a dull pain in between my neck and left shoulder, I tried sitting up but a hand stopped me and gently pushed me back to the bed, I looked at the owner of the hand and it was Maria, she had a look on her face that I could not decipher, she was looking at me blankly.

Memories of what had happened earlier rushed into my mind with a vengeance, Alex and his goons, fighting in the courtyard, my fight with Alexander which I obviously lost but I wondered how I was still alive, I had not thought he would live me alive.

And then one memory rushed in, the memory of hurting Maria, my eyes snapped open and I looked at her “I am so….”

My words died on my lips when she lifted her hands to indicate she wanted me to be quiet, I had not being thinking straight, I had no idea what I was doing when I had been hurting her, I was blinded by rage and anger and jealousy, I just wasn’t thinking straight.

“I am really sorry Maria” I said to her again.
